Indian Summer

Her dark raven hair hung long
across her native skin

White feathers were attached
to the strands of feathering hair

Her full lips so tempting
with the color of berry stain

Dark seductive eyes
seducing  his waiting heart
with her whispering softness

He pictures her on her buffalo skin
in the pale naked summer moonlight

Night birds and hoot owls  listen
in the night-n-gayle  rustling trees

Timber wolves throw back their heads
and howl at the Indian summer moon
