Back Under
Stop.  Breath.  Abide.
This feeling, too, will pass.
Concentrate on the knot inside.
Let it go.  Relax.
There is a heat in my head
And a feeling of drowning in my chest.
When I close my eyes, the dark is red.
I need reprieve.  I need rest.
So I fight my way to the surface;
Clawing at each shred of wonder.
I look to you.  Look for hope in your face.
But you lazily push me back under.

Oh ouch. This ending hurt deeply.  A fine work filled with dark emotion and need.  Well done. ~Pam
