Ballad of Crazy Sadie
Bugs McKinney was a tall and skinny

Chicago south side boy

A gangster man right out of gangsterland

And his momma's pride and joy

He met a lady called Crazy Sadie

Selling daisies from her cart

Just a look was all it took

She stole that young boy's heart

Crazy Sadie was the kind of lady

Who always drove men wild

Been like that a long time back

Since she was a woman-child

Bugsy didn't stand a chance

There was romance in the air

He took her dancing at his club

He popped the question there

The newlyweds spent a week in bed

When they finally did come out

Bugsy had this silly grin

As he followed her about

Bugs McKinney was a tall and skinny

Chicago south side boy

A gangster man right out of gangsterland

But now he's Sadie's toy

And Crazy Sadie is the bootleg queen

Of Chicago's whole south side

Bugs doesn't care about a thing

He's smilin' all the time
Author's Notes:
Just a prohibition fairytale.Another example of "behind every good man there's a better woman"

Awww, Len, this is very sweet.  Which came first?  The ballad or the story of Crazy Sadie and McKinney?

Women rule the world that is right. I guess I'm not a good man for there's no woman behind me lol.

I agree completely...about the better woman deal........but anyhow this was a good fun and very light piece. I enjoyed it very very much. wonder if gangsters still fall for flower ladies?
