~I Came From Ohio To See Fake Snow~

On my recent trip to California
I seen the funniest thing
They were having a party to celebrate
what the heavens naturally bring

They were celebrating snow
now being from Ohio
Snow is something that we do not celebrate
we just pray for the day it will go

When I was told that we were going to
this wonderful snow party
I tried to explain to them that there was no snow
they just smiled and told me to dress warmly

They were going to show me
just how they do it there
I have to say I was impressed
How they did it with flair

They brought in fake snow
by the truck loads
It was a funny sight to see
them driving down the roads

They piled the snow up on hills
for the children to sled
They were having so much fun
I am sure they will dream of it in bed

They had a snowmobile set up to take your picture on
a bubble machine to make it look like it was snowing
But in my mind all I could think
was it's just bubbles blowing

Don't get me wrong the party
was a lot of fun
But I went to California
to have fun in the sun

Author's Notes:

This really did happen we went to a California snow party.
They haul it in by the truck loads just to have a party.
I swear them people will do anything to have a party. LOL

	very funny Tracy,can imagine what you felt like,coming from Liverpool we are used to a bit of snow.I spent a few years in Cocoa Beach Florida,i remember the melted Snowman in a glass case,really funny all the bits floating round..Thanx for kind comment on Dads Ppoem..Steve Respond To This Comment

	I have never seen a fake snow party. However, it does sound like something you could enjoy. I am not much for the cold weather nor the snow. Snow is fun, and snow is pretty however, I much whether enjoy a warm fire with roasted marshmallows and hot chocolate. I like the feeling you describe however, with the children sliding on the sled from the hilltop and picture being made I bet it was an impressive site to see. You did a wonderful job in providing the description of how you came from Ohio to see fake snow. I enjoyed reading it on this cold December day. Respond To This Comment

	Oh Tracy, you did such an awesome job on this write, and the background is PERfect for it. I love the midi too. I can't imagine going to a "snow" party cuz like you, I'm from the north, but it did sound like a lot of fun.....where's that snowmobile picture anyway? LOL...Love ya Sis.
