Snow melts on the mountain top, finds the path of least resistance, joins a stream splashing, gaily, it would seem, over rocks, down the mountainside, dazzling in the sunlight.  At last, it finds a river deep, moving, always moving onward to the sea.
So you move my spirit.  Like a river deep, dark, and slowly, but surely moving onward, you draw from me emotions I didn't know were there; dark, strong emotions.  Like the ocean wide, sometimes calm, glistening in the light of sun or moon, and sometimes wildly thrashing, upheaving, you guide the ebb and flow of my life.  I wonder if you know how much you move me.

Mary Lou, this is an excellent way to show your love to your mom.  She evidently did an excellent job raising and loving you.  I enjoyed the poem and was taking it in a completely different way while reading it, but when I read you note about your mom it made even more sense to me.  A great job and a great tribute!

p.s. Sorry about your mom.

Oh...  As I was reading this, over and over, the tears just rolled.  This is so unbelievably beautiful.  It moved me, and I can almost feel longing in this, but also so much admiration and love. This is truly one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever read, or have moved me so much...

Very moving realisation of the deep bond and relationships we have with our mothers. Complex and challenging many times but also enriching and soul enhancing. I give thanks for your mama ML She did a fine job on you.
