Tears from a distant memory
Here, outside in the pouring rain
I cry these tears to hide my shame
Caused by shadows of what used to be
Reliving memories of you and me
I down another drink to drown the pain
Yet, your face in my mind still remains
I remember holding you so close to me
I cry tears from a distant memory
Tears from a distant memory
Trying to wash this pain away you see
Now all that's left of you and me
Are these tears of a distant memory
They say absence makes a heart grow fonder
If I still had you here I would not wander
In your arms is where I want to be
Can you find it in your heart to forgive me
I know I caused you pain
Don't leave me out here in the rain
Tears from a distant mamory
Trying to wash this pain away you see
Now all that's left of you and me
Are these tears from a distant memory

Excellent lyrics Henry! :o)
And I do hear music! :o) (actually I hear every little thing that you Im amazed by you.....) :o) I don't know the title or songwriter...but it was a strange thing, me hearing another song :o) Does your finished write sound anything like that?
Wishing you both the best in your musical endeavors! :o)

So do you drive to Nashville or fly? Hope to hear a tune for this. Very well done Henry. (I noticed the Fruedian slip in the last chorus, Tears from a distant mamory.) Come to think of it, that could be a song in itself. jp
