~Let Us Rebuild~

Tossing and turning,
the memories invaded my sleep.
Like a movie playing out in my head,
some even caused me to weep.

There are many happy memories of us,
along with many just as sad.
Throughout them all, there is you and me,
and for that I am very glad.

I sat with you at the local gym,
and from that experience so much I gained.
You then came to my camping family reunion
and never did you once complain.

A supporter of my dreams,
you always encouraged me to reach.
If nothing else my friend,
you came into my life just to teach.

Through the deaths of four parents,
 you were simply always there,
and in your own special way
showed how much you truly cared.

Going to counseling with me,
when I was so very afraid;
those memories of your strength
will never ever fade.

There was happy graduation time
that saw our girls as best friends,
but then the thing that happened between
them forced the start of our end.

From there, our friendship took
a slow descending twist,
although our love for each other
 continued to exist.

I wish I could take the many good parts,
and now wrap them up with a kiss.
I'd send them all straight to you,
causing the bad ones to be dismissed.

Bad memories start to fade for me now,
and I am able to put my thoughts to pen.
Together you and I, let's rebuild what we had
and become the best of friends again.

Author's Notes:
I can't promise you how things will turn out,
but a friendship such as what we had
is definitely worth another try...

Kate, my friend....I love you...

I will pray for you and your friend to get back together again and be the best of friends.

This was really a good poem. If I were a poetry teacher I would give it an A plus.

Well done, Karen.

-Sweet prayers Lexi

I hear your longing for your friend. Truly wanting to rebuild a friendship that is damaged. If both are willing there should be no reason why you can't mend your broken hearts.

With your loving  heart, how could a friendship not mend?

Karen dear, this is so amazing. I know they say, "if you love something

set it free, if it comes back, then it was meant to be." I pray that this

friendship mends, so your sorrows can end. HUGS
