Daisy Chain

Daisy Chain

Through meadows

And fields of wonder

Across the rails

Where steam was king.

My lover and I

Would slip away.

We were young

and the sun had always been kind.

My mind was filled

With daisy chains

And poppy fields so red

And the summer corn

Which made a perfect pillow

For your head.

Through golden fields we ran

You made me a man.

Although the years have fled

I still see the corn

That had made a pillow for your head.

This is a nice memory and a great write. The first time should be this romantic for everyone. I often wonder, how it influences men for the rest of their lives.

John,  You paint with vivid words that paint an awesome picture of a innocent time ..when you became a man.. she must have been so lovely to still remember the gold in the corn fields.. and a daisy chain... this is so lovely to read on a cold winter afternoon... It makes the heart warm... Hugs ~ She Whispers
