Just Thoughts.
I feel their thoughts around me
Some are mine, but most are not
So full of innuendo
As they pass a firing shot
What care I for those who have no soul
Whose feelings are as Ice
With their lives stuck in their wallets
No sense of spice or life
They feel they are superior
In their smug and sterile world
But what happens when it crashes
And their lives become unfurled
No real friends to offer comfort
Or a shoulder to cry upon
I'd rather be a pauper
Then a light that never shone.
Author's Notes:
I have'nt got a problem with people and wealth, just those that abuse their position .

This is great. Makes me think more about what is really valuable in life.  But I really could use some more money.

I know exactly the types of people you write of here. I used to bump into them all the time. Now I am much more discerning.

I  totally agree with you, Graham. Sadly, though, MOST people that have wealth and position tend to end up abusing it. Rarely do you find those that don't let money and power change them in some way or another. Isn't it strange how people that seem so "normal" can become almost monsters when it comes to being in power or having wealth??

Great work here, hon.

Hugs to ya!

The problem people have who have a lot of money is they never know who their friends are. I don't have any of that particular problem..Nicely worded, as always, Graham...len

Very good poem ... Very well written and so much the truth as it appears to us all.. I have been with men  who were millianaires and they are very cold men all they want is their power  and money.. they really have no friends... Thats why today I'm just a poor country girl with no money .....they saw to that.... They swore I would come back to them ..but I'm strong willed very stuborn!!..but you know what I'm happy with my life now .
I can breath again like a woman ...not a precious treasure for them to own...

Rich or poor...some people just seem to have no heart.  I cannot relate to them or understand.

Everyone is a teacher if only through example...even when its a negative (imho) example. :o)

and....I guess we are all supposed to be trying to teach others who may lack it, compassion and sympathy, if not empathy...

Excellent write up Graham,,,I always enjoy your thoughtful musings~
