An Empathetic Heart
The intensity of dreams broken
The anger of the words spoken
Outside my reach to influence
I want to try to help reach balance
So many tears that fall everywhere
In my heart I truly do really care
Wish I could stop the ugly pain
And help their happiness to regain
Lost without a compass to guide
I have a hard time trying to decide
My mind a mess of emotion distress
All I want to do is help, I confess
My heart is open and aches for those
God has a plan in which he chose
The details of which I often ponder
and they leave me feeling weaker
Weak against something larger than me
Wanting to make a difference so tricky
Stumbling where others can walk
I want to be strong and give a pep talk
The words fail me as tears start to flow
What needs to be said is more than I know
Others have the strength and peace of mind
They give hope when overcoming life's grind
Another victim of the unforgiving gears of 'life'
I wish I could rid everyone of all horrid strife
If the only cost is my time on this mortal coil
I would be willing to do so to stop all turmoil
To bring back the happiness to those who lost
I would be more than willing to pay that cost
For those who I hold dear at heart
and for those I seek friendship to impart
Feelings of despair I will try hard to resist
All I can really do is be there to help assist
With healing hugs that are from a distance sent
A comforting shoulder to cry on to be lent
From one empathetic heart to all others
Together we can assist when life flounders
In an imperfect world, when life comes apart
Together we can hold together, heart to heart
Author's Notes:
In life tragedy does happen, it's when the true side of friendship comes out and you learn who you can count on.  My heart goes out to Glata for having to give up her son, and to Miss Vee for the loss of her baby.  It is a hearfelt wish of mine that good people such as them and others didn't have to suffer from this kind of heartache.  I wish them the best to them along with a brighter future.
