He's not his father's son...
"I'm not my father's son!"
Spoken behind the father's back
With a deep need to outshine him
To win his mother's love totally
He's not his father's son
Through his actions it's certain
"I'm not my father's son!"
Obvious to a few at the start
With time it becomes more clear
He's not his father's son
A bold bravado and confidence
To hide the voice that haunts him
"I'm not my father's son!"
He wants so badly to be the 'man'
He's not his father's son
Trying so desperately to outdo him
So many will suffer because of this
He cares not as he proudly shouts
"I'm not my father's son!"

I really like this, Joe..It's hard to imagine that we are in the mess in Iraq because Jr. wanted to out-do dad..but it's the sad truth of the matter...Nice one, pal...len

I can see Lil "W" saying this, 'I'm not my father's son!'

There was a time when every young boy aspired to be like his father...but now it seems that each generation grows more and more defiant and more determined to bring shame to their fathers instead....It's sad...

A great write, Joe!
