Poet

May your pen

Be as fluid

As the inspiration

That guides it.

Pure imagination

Is the limit?

In which we work

To place your heart

In the lyrical structure.

To paint an image of your soul

Although sometimes

Light can escape

Rejoice in the darkness

For itís blackness

Is a way in which to see.

For a blind man

Can see the light of infinity.

And words will flow

From a pen of fluidity.

John -  I find the juxtapositions in this work fascinating.  It is interesting to consider that sometimes light emanates from within.  What the poet gains from his craft is the ability to express his/her life in an imaginative word picture.  Though he be blind he, as you said, can see the light and paint it as well.

This is so true, John. You know, I can write only in my darkest moments. When I am happy, I paint!! LOL! So, I guess this makes me creative at all times (sad or happy)!!
Lovely poem!

This is amazing writing.  Wow, I can't believe I've never read you before now.  Perhaps I should read your work more often.

Very nicely done.

Love, Rin

I liked the message in this one, John. We can find inspiration even in the darkest of times. That's what a writer does, and you've expressed that clearly.

Loved this one

Excellent write John. I tried to write something similar to the meaning of this poem but was not able to express my feelings the way you have. Thanks so much for writing such an excellent piece...without darkness there is no light.

They say that without the darkness as contrast, it's difficult to see the light. Wherever the muse comes from, I think we're all grateful. I'll do my best to keep a well oiled pen. Well done John. jp

Truer words were never spoken..
I love this my dearest sometimes in the darkness we can see it all..
Powerful and expressive...
