we are not alone

From this perspective the sun is dim; the earth can’t be detected

And all the statues man erected have been deconstructed

Instructive the way we were constructed, nothing is deflected

Light’s reflection is the closest thing to energy’s perfection

How can you tell me were special out of universal selection?

Let me guide you, give you some direction for this discussion

Fear has its repercussions so we stop truths infection

Hundreds of years ago man thought we were concentric

A trick of magic and mathematics and reality led to its rejection

And now we think were alone? The only beings in the section?

The universe is so big it would blow your mind if you could dissect it

We are just one planet out of eight stuck in the sun’s connection

The sun is one out of over 500 billion stars in our galaxies intersection

Our galaxy is one of 500 billion others in the universe’s cross section

Once you know that how can you not see that something is missing in our discussion
There are others out there its just that they are beyond our detection

Maybe millions of races are there but here’s an interesting interjection

What if we are alone? The only object capable of introspection

Wouldn’t that just be refreshing? Highly unlikely given the right inspection

Just like men hundreds of years ago, our minds still today are clouded with imperfection

A closed mind is a crippled mind! I  have been saying this for years, but everyone thinks its just a product of all those "stoner talks". Very good stuff here man, if you have time, look up the Drake Equation, it breaks down scientifically the possibility of sentient life in the universe and stuff.

Really enjoyed this write.  Liked how you invoked the title right into the text.  You know, when I read the first five lines I liked how you wrote of light and used it as a question.  I have always felt we are not alone but at the same time I have always felt confortable in knowing that light I see and can feel is coming at me from a million miles away.  In the vastness of it all I can feel special, but only briefly.

Well one thing is for certain, your mind isn't clouded at all! Brilliant penning Shoaib, highly informative. This reads like a rap song, I hear music when I read it. One suggestion, "that how not agree that" this area tripped my tongue. Perhaps, "Once you know this you will agree something is missing in our discussion" (??maybe??)

You are a great guide...lead on oh wise one! *okay, I'm teasing a little...smiles* But seriously now, this is GREAT penning!
