Tiny Droplets
It began with a tiny trickle,
Seeping slowly through a small crevice,
Giggling over smooth pebbles that tickle,
Laughing and tumbling over a rocky expanse.
One raindrop ‘ploop’ onto hard granite,
Quickly joined by others to form
A long continuous ‘drip’, ‘drip’, ‘drip’.
It began with a tiny trickle.
Gravity tugging on each droplet,
Every joining creates a gurgle,
Pushing against the squeezing stone walls,
Seeping slowly through a small crevice.
Screaming down a slick mountain side,
Splashing and jumping for joy
Into a swirling, whispering pool,
Giggling over smooth pebbles that tickle.
Elevation changes make it stronger,
Running into spawning king salmon,
Merging enthusiastically with other streams,
Laughing and tumbling over a rocky expanse. |
