the passion to inspire

Iím not perfect, I know youíre not either; but Iíd rather be flawed then be called a liar

Iíve been in love and situations that were dire; and still Iíve been able to rise higher

I donít know how Iíve come to acquire this feeling that acceptance is required

Because if I couldnít accept the fact that both good and bad happen Iíd grow tired

Blame God and how the world was wired; when really it was me who didnít have desire

I see and I want you to see that acceptance is the only thing we need in this entire

World and that joy, pain, love, laughter, depression, doubt, fear and sadness all expire

There maybe be no war ending cease-fire but we will still live, work, perspire and retire

I just want you to think of your actions, be open minded, respect people and always inquire

Because there is hope in knowledge and beauty in each bit that we acquire

Some write of the pain they feel and others write of the love to which they aspire

I just want to write words that real, have the power to heal, and the passion to inspire

I think you definitely reached your goal in effecting people with these words. Every once in awhile at least I know I need reminding of these things..It was a good read for me..look forward to reading more from you!

this is a great poem and my favorite part is the promoting of acceptance, not just tolerance. tolerance is a great first step but acceptance needs to be ultimate goal.

In a world where it seems to be all about attitude its comforting to see the sincerity and passion in your work.  It inspired me!

I bought a new fridge magnet recently, it reads, "I've got an open mind, it's just that people keeps putting dumb stuff in it!" *laughs* Gotta luv it!

I've never invested much in acceptance. I want it as much as anyone else, that is true but I don't think about it much. It comes to me, most always but if I hit a snag and meet someone that is not accepting, it doesn't bother me a great deal. I guess that would be because of my open mind, I figure they are entitled to their own opinion, even if it is wrong. *still laughing*

Okay, seriously for one moment...please write more words that heal...we all need to read more of them. Thank you Shoaib for sharing your brilliant thoughts with us. I am so pleased to see this poem from you. Nice work! =))
