Be Still My Heart.
As I step into the dark
Of that which is unseen
Do I wrap my hands around
Which I know has never been
Do I suck into my lungs the air
Of deep despair
Or do I offer up my eyes to what
I know will not be there
Can you tell me what I feel
In the depth of midnight hour
Or release from me the scent
Of a wound that will not heal
Am I just another pawn in the
Game that never ends
Or or am I just another soul
 that floats above the earth
In a heart that never mends.

Of course I am going through your pieces to see alll that is there. I guess I'll see you in say what, three years??? lol

This was really good! I loved the fear of the unkown, for lord knows we all have been there.. Yet you bring it forth with such clarity that one can't seem to bring to words.. You it comes with such ease.. This one I can relate to only too well.. Many pieces to prove it.. Sighhhhhhh.. I yi yi yi yi yi!!!

The uncertaintly drains a person. Answers are evasive when they are supposed to be within. I can really relate to this poem. Thank you for expressing this state of confusion so clearly.

Fear of  the unknown...and loss of the most necessary emotion to the heart...two painful realities...

You've written this with such clarity...Great job, Graham!

Hugs...

Sometimes in life we just have to jump... It's scary and it can be a heart breaker if it does't work out.....but you know sometimes you just have to take a chance...You will never know if you don't try....  Hugs ~ Scarlett

Bittersweet and beautiful, Graham! For what it's worth, I believe it was Pope who said" Tis better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all". Be well, my friend. Michael
