Arizona Clime

Arizona Clime

Arizona seasons
Blend one into another
Causing harmonies.
Dust devils turn up
Everywhere across the land
Fanned by the wind.
Gardening is not
Hard to do in the desert,
It happens to be
Just a matter of being
Kind to the environment
Leaving it alone,
Mother Nature takes care of
Native plants so well.
Once upon a time
People lived far apart,
Quiet desert nights.
Rain falls in winter,
Summer sometimes brings rain, too.
Turning up the green,
Underground springs recover
Virtually overnight.
Wide open spaces are becoming rare,
Xeriscape landscaping conserves water,
Your own personal spaces can be fair,
Zero water use would make it better.
Author's Notes:
An ABC contest to write a poem with each line starting with the alphabet in order.  I used haikus and tankas, ending with a couplet.

Quite a task to tackle! Great work, though...I couldn't have done half as lovely a job!

I like your creativity here.  This is a hard poetic style to flow through as well as you have.  I share your appreciation of the desert.  There was a time where I live the desert animals out numbered the people.
