Space, a distance between two points
Love, amongst two who are of one soul
Now there is space of a canyonesque hole
Divided by the curse of mutual apathy
Fault, it's distributed in equal places
One, for trying to mold what isn't there
The other for simply refusing to care
Love erodes with each act of indifference
Stress, etched into every line of conversation
Pain, takes full control of the heart
No knowledge of how it all came apart
Yet the gap sems to widen with each day
Reality, hits hard with the realization
Once, you were two with so much in common
Now neither has someone they can rely on
So tragic that love had to end this way

Sadly, this happens far too often

Oh my Henry, you are so right, it is sad and it does happen way too often.  If only ... the spark ... if only.  Well done.  I loved the way you set this up. ~Pamela

With the divorce rate as high as it is, you hit the nail on the head with this write Henry. Love grows through hard work...something not everyone is willing to do.

Nicely pennedm Henry....When "love" is fresh, you don't see the warts. If it isn't the real thing, after a time, warts are all you see....len

The distance doesn't appear to be in the miles of separation...from what I  read, it's the emotional miles that separate...I hope that this is just a  write...but if not, you've a listening ear here...

Its always terrible when to people drift apart when you are so in love it seems its impossible that it can happen yet it does and as you say far to often, great write Henry.

Relationships take alot of work and care...else sadly they unravel as you so eloquently write Henry~

Maybe the unravelling is simply a testament to a will and want that was not really there to begin with?

Excellent expressing Henry...this should win an award...somewhere, for something... :o)
