Blurry, fuzzy, and long dark shadows.
I find myself in a hall
That stretches as far as I can see.
I try to walk but I stall.
Doors to the right and left of me;
Doors behind and in front.
Doors of all different shapes.
I know now is the time of the hunt.
I've been in this hall all my life.
I've been in it without a thought
Of which door i'd like to open.
The choices leave me distraught.
Can I enter a door for a little?
Can I leave the room if I'd like?
Are all the rooms different?
Are any two alike?
Do I open the ones most near?
Do I search for one afar?
Are some rooms dark as twilight?
Do others burn like a star?
My time to leave the hall has come.
The time to choose is now.
My hand has touched the cold, dark knob.
Warm sweat runs down my brow.
Wish me luck for the time has come.
I know full well the score.
I turn the knob as far as it goes.
I open and enter the door.
