Mother Nature's Reign
Mother Natureís Reign In an idyllic world we would live in peaceful Harmony with the flora and fauna of nature. Grandfather Sun gives warmth to our lives, While Grandmother Moon shines her love Over us during the night with reflected light. Our existence is thanks to the Moon and the Sun.   Mother Nature, Daughter of the Moon and Sun, Reigns over the Earth in peace Most of the time. When her mood is light, Playful and sweet itís natural For her to express her love By giving us the necessities for us to live.   The Sun had lived a long and lonely life Until the Stars and Moon were created from the mind of the Sun. He took one look at the Moon and felt undying love. They lived for a while peacefully And then the Moon gave birth to Nature, Which made the Sunís heart grow lighter   The Sun, Moon and Stars together created an intense light, But the Stars wanted to live separate lives. As the Moon thought this proper and natural, She took a deep breath and blew them away from the Sun, After wishing them much love and peace Into the constellations we see today, so lovely   A passing comet saw Nature playing in the cosmos and fell in love. After a whirlwind courtship with great flashes of light, Nature became Mother Nature with a newfound dream of peace. She gave birth to all the creatures on Earth alive Today. Grandmother Moon and Grandfather Sun Were so proud of their daughter, they naturally   Gave her all the support two parents could give. Mother Nature Wanted to populate the Earth with people who would love And nurture it as much as she did. So, she asked Grandfather Sun And Grandmother Moon to shine on her charges a healing light That would make plants grow and waters flow to enrich their lives. All this was done with much joy, gratitude and peace.   Itís our very nature to grow toward the light, Mother Nature and love sustains us throughout our lives, Grandmother Moon and Grandfather Sun keep watch over us in peace.
Author's Notes:
This is in the Sestina form.  I know, trying a new form again, but how can you grow if you don't try?  It's a little complicated to explain, but the form can be found on shadowpoetry.com.
