They Say

The sun arose

In the east

This morning

They say there are meteors

That could hit the earth

With the force of

A multi-megaton explosion

But on this morning

The sun came up

And the sky is blue

And the mountains are green

They say that the ozone layer

Is dissipating, and that

We will all suffer

The consequences

But on this morning

The sun is shining

And the birds are singing

And the Morning Glories are in bloom

They say that a

Great earthquake

Will cause California

To break off into the Pacific

They say…………

They say many things

But the sun

Is shining brightly this morning

They say that’s a good sign

.

The sun will rise many times

before we feel the final blow of woes,

yet we do find comfort in its warm rays,

and the beauty that it grows.

Nice work. :o) ~Pamela

For all of the "They says" that I have heard, no one can tell me exactly who "They" is! Amazing how we are conditioned to believe a source that no one knows the origin of! Nice write Joe.   Hemry

Well, I sat up all night tryin' to figure out

where the sun would come up in the morning looking for the sign...

...finally it dawned on me.  :o))

I always take it as a good omen when the sun comes up..They say a lot of things..They said that eating eggs would clot your arteries, then discovered that the dreaded colostral from the eggs just passes right through. A healthy concern over things we can do something about, like the ozone, is a good thing. Spending your life worried about what might be, takes so many hours out of a finite life, you could wind up missing your whole life at the end..So good to see you posting again, Brother Blues...len

I don't believe that anyone alive today will experience or know if what they say is true.
While slightly political, this is beautifully written.
Nice job !!!
This gave me cause to gaze out and to enjoy this marvelous morning.

:o) Indeed...it is so beautiful....I have never seen such a beautiful summer such as this one...I've been revelling and praising.  This is a beautiful poem to make us appreciate that life is here now and good!

But....the reason we do have have ozone, pollution, extinction etc is from exactly this thought.  Sunny day today hm?...Might be nice to think of the children we birth into the future we grow~

Provocative write Joe, well written as always!

Hugs,
Pamela

And I say, this is a wonderful write! You know...so much beauty around us makes us forget that there are several things happening that will eventually end this world, as we know it. Amazing, huh?

They say...so many things. I wonder where "They" get "Their" information from!

Hugs to ya, and great to see a new post!

Glata
