Nature Creatures

Sun flowers stand in emerald green
and with tan rolled bales of spring hay

Cottonwood leaves rustle, singing in the leaves
with a soft tune in the backside of the day

Locust  can be heard in the distant forest of trees
and a bullfrog singing to the soft gentle breeze

Long horn cattle  can be seen grazing in the vivid sunset
of scarlet pinks that glitter with a of  tinge gold

Swirling clouds  gather with natures night clutches of
corals and azures blues breathtaking so bold

Huge oaks stand dark and still where painted birds  fly
from feeders to the fence  and trees

Watching my three cats  that scamper and play
Jada, Sabra, and my black cat She

Squirrels play until the last minute of this gentle
cool afternoon beautiful day

Two small cottontails  nibble on my sweet grasses
of my green  moist  kept back lawn  and stay

As the backside of the day starts to gentle fade
into a sleepy twilight sparkling yawn

My three racoons will come again to the leftover
supper of food and water to be found on the lawn

My baby skunk will find his supper of catfood
and scraps on the waiting ground

As the shimmering days closes its sleepy eyes
and another creature is creeping around

I still hear  my waterfall splashing in the fish pond
with gold fish that  swim and  play

As I smile  and sip my wine  after a long day
This Texas Lady goes outside  to  stay

I will listen to the night creatures that come out
in the silence of darkness to roam and enjoy

Listening to the wild as I sit and think
I hope this nature will always never  be destroyed
