October Kind of Love
October Kind of Love   Oh it began, as all beginnings do; hot as hell to the touch, the passion free flowing and heady. Steamy like the fog over a lake. A few minor glitches, but couldn’t break us, the perfect couple. No, not us in all our days of glory.
When Indian Summer settled in, we rode high on the shirt tails of remaining sustenance; we suckled the sugary sap of love and sated ourselves into contentment and false beliefs, perhaps, that all was well.     Then came a telling chill on the wind. An argument ensued, frost settled over us and grey days shoved our merry sun aside. Blue was not the only color of tears.     And when the crying was finished, we stood bare naked; exposed completely to each other and the world. Wondering, if there was enough spark left over to withstand a winter ahead.

The imagery is great.....you mixed the season and the emotions you experienced.

Time will tell, they say. I'm grinning at this one, Barbie, thinking how familiar it seems. I expect most of us find it familiar. Well done. ML

Sad stuff Barbie (are you sure it is alright to call you Barbie?) Do you know this song?

October Song Lyrics
Artist(Band):The Incredible String Band

I'll sing you this October song,
Oh, there is no song before it.
The words and tune are none of my own,
for my joys and sorrows bore it.

Beside the sea
The brambly briars in the still of evening,
Birds fly out behind the sun,
and with them I'll leavng.

The fallen leaves that jewel the ground,
They know the art of dying,
And leave with joy their glad gold hearts,
In the scarlet shadows lying.

When hunger calls my footsteps home,
The morning follows after,
I swim the seas within my mind,
And the pine-trees laugh green laughter.

I sed to search for happiness,
And I used to follow pleasure,
But I found a door behind my mind,
And that's the greatest treasure.

For rulers like to lay down laws,
And rebels like to break them,
And the poor priests like to walk in chains,
And God likes to forsake the.

I met a man whose name was Time,
And he said, "I must be goin,"
But just how long that was,
I have no way of knowing.

Sometimes I want to murder time,
Sometimes when my heart's aching,
But mostly I just stroll along,
The path that he is taking.

If you go to http://www.pandora.com/ and set up an October Song Radio Station you will be able to hear it.

Oh how love can begin with such passion then thrown aside with harsh words. It's how you fight that matters. The spark can come if someone is willing to light the fire.
Well written Barbie.

It's what remains once the flames die down that matters...and this expresses that so clearly!! It makes my heart ache so  deeply, though...as I know how this feels. From the comments below, I know that MANY relate to this!

Just come on down this-a-way, Miss Pistachio...and we'll crack open a bag of M&Ms ... and then we'll go trick-or-treating! Can you imagine the fun??? And heartache and loss will be put on the back burner until we're ready to take it out and give it a good going over!

Absolutely amazing write, of course...

Love ya bunches!

Wow...this may be one of your best poems, Barbie...your writer's voice opened this piece and flowed all they way through...excellent imagery..and a marelvous way of presenting this very real and painfully honest crossroads in which almost all couples in a genuine and authentic relationship find themselves.

One may wonder..."how will we ever love each other again?"...but then miraculously a heartfelt apology is spoken and forgiveness gives way to love.

How I can relate to these words tonight B.

And when the crying was finished, we stood bare naked;

exposed completely to each other and the world.

Wondering, if there was enough spark left over

to withstand a winter ahead.

His love I held in this heart wont beat together this winter for he has sailed of into the the night

How the tears fall reading this B.

Wonderful

Love Angelxx

This is just great Barbie.... I guess you never really know someone until you spend alot of time with them. After all, time is where the true test comes in, time is the great eroder, it strips away the exterior and gets down to the real person beneath! Your words bring that out perfectly.  Henry
