Demon Slayer -- Halloween
Claws of darkness reach out to me
Haunting my mind night and day
The darkness calls out to me gleefully
Tantalizing me to come its taboo way
My blood burns like lava's liquid fire
The light of hope quickly grows faint
To the dark urges of wanton desire
My world splattered in night's paint
Pain rips through my body, I shout
What horrors did I do to deserve this
Slicing through my back 'it' thrusts out
Drenched in sudden night there is no bliss
A dark struggle to just stay conscious
Sudden numbness claims my arm
Down to my knees, my fury boundless
No love felt, just a desire to cause harm
I look to my arm to see flesh transform
Gripped by shock, all I do is just stare
Flesh drips off to reveal metal so warm
Human sized bird's leg from nowhere
My hand adorned with claws instead of fingers
Silver metal bands that bind real to unreal
I feel an inferno from unbearable pain that lingers
Deep tremors that continue during this ordeal
Metal turns black along with death's scent
Movement on back, no reaction from me
From a blood spattered wing demon sent
Large in size, dark feathered wing so bloody
Outstretched into night's air, dark moon's shade
I scream out in pain and confusion so severe
Over night air my voice echoes over many a glade
Rampant my emotions chaotic finds no fear
With blood on the wind, trouble comes fast
Creatures of the night attracted to the scent
To sneak up from behind, dark forms scamper past
Along the shadows before they begin their torment
Hungry for the flesh of human, they prowl
Quietly I kneel and await their attack
Silence as the still air is ripped by a lone howl
They charge forward straight for my back
I stand up and turn quickly with outstretched wing
With several yards to go it halts their charge
No scent of fear along with my body so confusing
The scent of black death is all I discharge
I stand firm and the demonic wolves bare their fangs
Transform into were-beasts, their aim to overwhelm me
Under moonlight on my arm, remnant of dead flesh hangs
A standoff as several form a half circle around me quickly
Snarls and growls, one attempts to be the lucky first
Fast sprint with claws raised, he launches forward
A quick lunge cut short, no satisfaction for its blood-thirst
The beast's headless corpse then flung backward
Only one remains unimpressed and stands its ground
The others look to the 'one' to find rapid solution
The packs Alpha, the strongest one to be found
This strange challenge may be to his satisfaction
Aglow with fervor his eyes pierce the night
Quick as lightning, he launched himself with a thrust
Forced backward, I evade his strikes of might
Moving hard and fast, the struggle kicks up dust
By moonlight's glow his speed grew immense
No longer human, I easily trump his best speed
That's when I noticed why he was so intense
To get me into the forest was his need
With close quarter fighting more to his advantage
Less room to evade, I needed to stand my ground
Trees rend from a battle too harsh and savage
The pack were confident to my corpse to be found
Silence fell quick after a loud sharp break
The pack howled in unison assured of victory
However where they stood the ground did shake
Fear and confusion struck almost as fast as me
Corpses piled high, the life ripped free
Alone I stand, no humans to have as friends
Amongst the shadows I must dwell lonely
With the blood of demons on my hands

Spine-chilling!  Perfect for Halloween.  If read by a campfire, I would have nightmares, for sure.
