Cascading Colors
Soft pastel streaks across the sky
Like Monet decided to fly
To make a canvas of the night
With a medium of pure light.
Ancient man may have stood right here
Where I stand now, but in sheer fear.
Looking north and I wonder why
Soft pastel streaks across the sky.
Undulating waves of color
Might have been a test of valor
To stand up strong and not be shy
Like Monet decided to fly.
Painting the sky with broad, wide bands
Of bright light with my own two hands,
My artist soul swells at the right
To make a canvas of the night.
The Aurora Borealis
Is on my list before Dallas
To see works of art that delight
With a medium of pure light.
Author's Notes:
I was inspired by my son's poem "God's Accidental Miracle" or "Who turned on the Lights?"-fiction
Done in the Cascade form.

Just lovely, Pen...I've seen the show and I also wondered what primitive man thought when he saw the sky light up. Chances are, they thought the gods were angry about something or other...:O)..len
