The Boogey Man.
Come gather round my children
A story I shall tell
Of a Boogey man that roams the night
They say comes straight from hell

His eyes like burning embers
With hair as green as mould
His teeth and nails like ivory scales
To make your blood run cold

His skin is pale and sallow
And his frame just skin and bone
No sound he makes on the road he takes
In seeking out your home

So when he see's your light on
He knows you're not asleep
So up your wall he'll quietly crawl
And to your bedroom creep

So let this be a lesson
Say your prayers and go to sleep
Then the Boogey man can't get you
And your soul is yours to keep.

Really good Graham I could see this poem illustrated in a childrens poetry book. Maybe that's a line you could explore?

Oooooohhh! Fantastic!!! I just read this to my 12 year old that still sleeps with the light on, lol! This was GREAT!!!! Gave me a delicious shiver and made my daughter go....".......niiiceeee!" In American Teen-Speak that means  "NICE!" LOL

I enjoyed!

Hugs and shivers...
