Sadly, Tolkien
Upon sodden Flanders' fields
Tolkien into deathpools stared
Joshua's sun would not shine
this day or night
marching, seeking, beseeching
Tolkien into deathpools stared
time no longer an issue,
nor victory gained
rain replenished despair,
high drama danced in mire
Upon sodden Flanders' fields
Tolkien into deathpools stared, knowing
these were not reflections,
but death masks relaxed
Tolkien into deathpools stared, knowing
this was not new, forever sadly flowing
Author's Notes:
Dedicated to a very brave woman, and a very thoughtful, brilliant man, Benazir Bhutto and J.R.R. Tolkien.

I was going to say "and a happy new year to you too!".... until I read further down to the about section.

She was indeed brave. My age too.
To me the most poignant image was of her reapplying her lipstick minutes before she was murdered. To me, that spoke volumes.....
A strong one yes...a leader undoubtedly...but underneath it all a woman in a man's world.

Some women are just inspirational

she was one
