Psalm 1197 -The Sword
Being surrounded by a multitude rejecting
Your name Jesus, O Lord,
I have no fear
For Your lips
which do not lie
"Do not fear therefor;
you are of more value than many sparrows.
Therefore whoever confesses me before men,
him I will also confess before My Father
who is in heaven.
"But whoever denies me before men,
him also I will deny before My Father
who is in heaven.
Do not think
that I came to bring peace on earth.
I did not come to bring peace
but a sword." ' "
And now, Father,
I ask again just as before,
dress the entire body in armor
for many pick up a weapon in Your name
out of evil in this day.
Gird the waist with the belt of truth
Put on the breastplate of righteousness
Shod the feet with the preparation
of the gospel of peace
as we hold our shield of faith
put on the helmet of salvation
while we take up the sword of the Spirit;
which is Your word,
the word of God.
And I also ask, O God,
swing to the left
swing to the right
slice through all wickedness
surrounding us all over the earth.
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come.
