Cycles of Change
Hourglass time measured in daylight,
The earth warms and birds take wing,
Rejoice in sunlight, if strong or slight,
The tender unfolding buds of spring.
Increased intensity, the fruit grows
With time and the world’s heartbeat,
If strong or slight, rejoice in sunlight,
The ripening fruit in summer’s heat.
Waning autumn light signals release
Nature’s labors are a boon,
Rejoice in sunlight, if strong or slight,
Reaping crops under the Harvest Moon.
Leaves are shed within the thinnest rays
Slanting down from the northwest,
If strong or slight, rejoice in sunlight
When at last we come to winter’s rest.

How fitting for the Topic of the Week. This poem is a quick poetic condensation of the effects the sun has throughout the year. You've covered a lot with these enjoyable descriptive verses. Very nice!

And without that 23% tilt on the earth's axis, none of this would take place..An amazing accident, huh?..Lovely descriptions of the seasons, Pen...len

I'll just be thrilled to see Spring come with its healing sun's rays! :o)

Winter's great,  but Spring is calling my name!

Beautifully done!
