"Mike's Hard Lemonade"
In the acidic nature of life
I drink the nectar of my regret
by the glass full
with a toast to Pain
a cheers to Heartache
and a
here’s to you Second Guessing

When I begin to realize
what it means to own up to the moment
I switch to double shots of Reality
followed by a fifth of
there’s only me to blame for my choices and actions
I find it hard to keep down
choke on hurt, and mistrust
trip over my own heart while walking away
and decide to leave it there
I have no use for it without you
Author's Notes:
I've never drank any form of alcohol a day in my life but I thought it was a fitting metaphor for this write.
The "mike's hard lemonade" is a tongue in cheek of "when life hands you lemons".

Rather liked the idea of remorse for drinking about remorse and sorrow.  Well, good luck staying on the wagon.

I think we would all like to drown our sorrows with drinking. I like this Angelique and I'm sure many can relate. Joe

It's a shame that Mike's Hard Lemonade won't get you to where you want to go. It's such a strange process.
