You and I

You and I

The strangest thing I ever tasted
Was the melancholy burst from your lips
It left me talking to strangers
Where shadows appear with hips.
For many years I wandered
Never looking for the sun
Sunshine made me feel like home
A place I couldn’t run.
I have danced to many tunes
Ate some humble pie
Nothing ever filled me
Like the thought of you and I.
