For the chance

Just you

For the chance
That your face
Might come close
Or brush the air upon my lips
Just to stand
In your light
Not to exist
In a twilight life
For the chance
That your lips
Might come close
And take away my longing
To reach you
To touch you
To smell your fragrance
Be in your place of happiness
For the time
When you can see
I can declare
What you mean to me.

WHEW.....this leaves me breathless! Stunning post John. =))

My one suggestion would be to remove "when you can see" Read the poem without it and see what you think. Maybe it is just my own style picking at me. Anyway, it is a little thought to consider.

I love what this says and I really love the sincerity I feel in the "voice" of the poem. BRAVO!

Magnificent and so very tender. How lucky the lady to have such words written for her

This was one of the most gentle poems I have ever read. Nothing buut softness, admiration and goodness to it. The title was excellent too. May she come into your life soon, and may she be holding up a sign that reads "Here's your chance! " (giggles)
Good on you....beautiful works.

John,
My someone has inspired your tender heart ..with such wishful longing... Soft lips to touch ... warm arms to embrace ...perfume to allure ...
This woman must mean the world to you..
Your poetry is a love letter...
Simply astonishing to read over and over...
