The Beanstalk

I cupped the stars in trembling hands,
until I, in jubilation, and overcome with pride,
forgot to weep for the sky’s blindness.
When the weight of grief broke through the clouds,
I haphazardly scattered them in the dust
along this dirt-packed, deserted road.
Where her tears fell upon them, and like magic beans,
they sprouted into a bramble-ridden stalk,
that, although it pierces my calloused hands,
I still try to climb to the golden dawn.

I like to read this without 'her' in it.

I like the message of hope here.  It is true the sky is blind and does not discriminate.

Okay, this goes without saying, had to get a gold mark.  This is, like all your work, totally brilliant!  You are the closest to the real thing in poetry.
Congratulations my J!!

If you don't shoot for the stars, you'll hever reach them, I always say.

Your writes are always so metaphorical they get into the mind and

work around. I love your work for that reason.

When life rains strife down on you, you have to climb back up from the depths Jody. Your words here are a fine example of how it's done.  Henry

In our life with so many dreams in our mind....many shattered but still we climb to reach the top to get what we must have... How well I know of this struggle... You always find the words to express life.

There is no shame in seeing something beautiful and wanting it for our own. And sometimes, it may be a long journey to fruition, but every shred and slice is worth it. Keep climbing Sistah, if ya ain't there yet, I feel certain you are about as close as any one of us ever will be.
Beautiful work, from a woman that bestows beauty on this world every day..
Your loving BB
