Words Of Love

The power of words

To heal, to harm

Deliver an ultimatum

Of war

A Declaration

Of Independence

Or a testament

To love

Loving someone

With words

They can speak for eternity

Moments of passion

Fleeting as autumn shadows

Words of love

Live on forever

Statements of love from

Shakespeare, Browning & Keats

Spoken still

By men

To the woman they love

As Anthony told Cleopatra

By Romeo to Juliette

I love you now

And will love you when

All is gone

And time is at its end

Oh beautiful.  I think we forget the true power of words. It can hurt and uplift.
This poem is artistically almost perfect. The structure, the rhythm, the rhyming and the slight form of alliteration...  THIS is poetry.

im such a sappy romantic....there is nothing more heart pounding and wonderful than a declaration of love....if you love someone...you should be able to express it...but most people hold back...i liked this steve.
