Destined To Be
I feel love and peace when I look into your eyes.
I want to wake up to them with the sunrise.
Life would be so simple, if only I could.
The little pleasures that make us both feel good
Are more precious to me than money, jewels or gold.
Please, say you will stay with me as we grow old.

One day of being separated from you
Seems like an eternity, but what can I do?
In the everyday chaos that is my life,
I feel exhausted from so much strife.
I turn to you and much to my surprise,
I feel love and peace when I look into your eyes.

If I could give as much as you give to me,
You would be as content as you could be.
You are my refuge at the end of the day,
And I try to thank you in every way.
When I rest easy in your arms, time flies.
I want to wake up to them with the sunrise.

To live a carefree life is my fantasy,
And have it be with you, I hope you agree.
I thought that we were made for each other.
I feel complete when we are together.
We could live in a log cabin in the wood,
Life would be so simple, if only we could.

Together, we double the power of one
By working as a team, creating fun.
To give back to the world and shrink our footprint
Is one thing we can do without taking a cent,
By volunteering in our neighborhood,
The little things that make us both feel good.

Your strong shoulder supports me when I weep,
Your arms enfold me when I need to sleep,
Your hands bring me to ecstasy so well,
And your eyes hold my heart under your spell.
The sum of your parts, if I may be so bold,
Are more precious to me than money, jewels or gold.

As Forrest Gump would say, if we can be parrots,
“We go together like peas and carrots”,
I compliment you, you compliment me,
We are simply fulfilling our destiny
For without you, I would be lost out in the cold.
Please, say you will stay with me as we grow old.
