A Son

What do you see
My yellow haired one
What do you believe
My blue eyed son
What’s your future
But a tale to be spun
How many times
Will my boy try
How many times
Will my boy cry
Take way his trouble
Remove his weight
Keep him humble

Bless his fate

Author's Notes:

I have two daughters, a granddaughter and grandson.  No son, but if I did this would be my prayer for him.  In case you're wondering, I pray for my adult daughters a lot !  :-)  I am sure the parents of the young men in combat (women are restricted) never imagined their future to be like this.  I pray for the parents and the brave men.

I think anyone with a child (or assumed children, bless my drama daughters) understands this prayer.  Oddly enough, my "daughters" are as old as I am!

This was very well written.  :)
