To Jolen

For Jolen

My ignorance
Is bested only by my lack of eloquence
Or a heart that cannot read
Or a plate so carefully laid
On a table filled with wisdom
In a field so full of seed
Where words flow and bleed
I see things unintentional
That capture my gaze
They feed on me
And trickle like raindrops
And shuffle like footsteps
Till the moment of their need.

Author's Notes:
This is for Jolen, I mis enterprit her work so much. I see something else that isn't there. I just wanted to write this for her to show how stupid i am lol. She is the best writer i know. I am the dumbest reader.

She is the most original person and her work reflects this, as it should.

In a world of mediocrity for so many she has been a motivater and inspiration to me. I know that there will never be a "wrong way" to decipher her...

She is beyond compartmentalism and that has always been her forte..

Lovely poem John

Nice dedication to a fantastic lady, but dumb no I find it hard to understand alot I read find myself reading over and over to get some meaning I am simple minded I guess and that is how I write my poems easy reading... I love the challenge of some of the poems I read yes Jolens also but it is beauty in the words I find mostly that touch my heart. Everyones interpertation is so very different.  I just read and admire.....Excellent write here for a wonderful lady

Dumbest reader eh? No, I think I hold the crown on that one! Really, there is no such thing. When I read something, sometimes I catch myself trying to be the writer, and feeling what they are feeling. When in fact, being just the reader, is much better. Different interpretations are what makes a poem touch more than just a handful of people. Making us think, whatever we think, is a good thing. There are many writes I don't understand, and I admit it openly and honestly. I do feel dumber than a box of rocks because of it at times, but..hey, I am still learning!
Jolen is a very gifted writer, and I have always been envious of her. You, on the same hand, have the gift as well. You may not see it, but others do. I don't understand yours sometimes, but thankfully, you never call me stupid.(well, not that Ican hear anyway, lol)
Ease up on yourself...think what you is what makes us all unique!
I have a spare crown if it will make you feel better, at least the throne will not be as lonely, lol..
This was beautiful, and so is she.

great dedication....but I agree with Jolen...if the reader unserstands it exactly as the poet intended that's great...if they read something else in there that's cool the reader you are bringing your own life experiences into the mix and since poetry is often clouded with veiled meanings it is only natural you will read into what you do. Hell, sometimes I read some of my older stuff and have forgotten what state of mind I was in when I wrote it and it loses some of the meaning to me.

John: if this write shows your ignorance; please direct me to your smart writes.  This is a very very good use of language.

As poets we seem to screen poets  poems to fit what we think they may have said... I guess it is the way it is presented ??  And woe is us who just don't understand another persons objective  or their thoughts as they were writing... She is one the very best writers on this site..She has become a blesing to us all...Her Way!
I admire and respect her with great love as poets and friends... Beautiful John.. The lady poetress will love this...
