Time on loan
Borrowed time, throw up a prayer
Line up to take out your loan
Take a few seconds here, a few minutes there
Time is an entity you can never own

Mortage the future for more of today
Is the deal that's made with the devil
In reality, you have very little say
The playing  field is never quite level

The odds are in favor of the house
They started this game you see
Like dangling cheese before a mouse
The prey most sadly is we

Get on your knees, hold out your hands
Try to catch time in a bottle
Hang onto life's most precious strands
As time moves on full throttle

They are fine at trying to temp you to take their money but when it comes to paying it back and you fall on hard times well now thats another story indeed. I wouldent have one at 1% interest Henry chicken

Henry,
SO ..True every word of this poem... payments all your life on this or that... Life is all about money   how much you make how much you give back just to live ...All we do is get older ...and still owe someone..

It never ceases to amaze me just what we do to ourselves...and what kind of a mess we continue to leave behind for our  children to inherit. A stack of bills...a pile of IOU's...and the government will take whatever is left for "death" taxes.

Then we abuse our bodies...abuse our minds...and all for what???

Very good piece here, Henry...LOL who knows, Joe...Maybe I'm getting old, too! hehe

Hugs....

Glata

No, the playing field is never quite level...so we committ today to whatever it is we hope will still be around tomorrow. Can't capture time, no sireeeee but we still have to plan for the future just in case we do live long enough.

Great write Henry,  oh yes, an entity of nothingness we base our mortal lives on  uselessly  because time is on our side but waits for no one.  Better pay up on time.

Wonderful poem Henry...

Liked the bit about mortgaging....however I'd give up my few of my mortal years now in a blink, for the eternal life later.

I see what your saying about a game...and how this might be interpretted as such, but really it's not at all...though we are prey to the Devil, God, Jesus and the angels are rooting for us...hoping we will make the right decisions...

God gave Adam and Eve one command...we failed,,,Noah, two commands, we failed again....then ten commands and boy did we fail!!!...Can't say He hasn't given us chances.

...well I could ramble incessantly for days, months on the subject,,,I will now cease and desist. :o)

Interesting poem indeed...sure got me going!!! :o)

Hugs,
Pamela
