A Landscape For The Lost.
Twas my endeavour to be thine
No matter what the cost
For what is life without ones love
A landscape for the lost
Blinded by your beauty
Invading all my dreams
Whispered breath upon my ear
Caressed my heart it seems
Smitten to the very core
Beguiled by all your charms
I'd give a thousand lifetimes
For one moment in your arms
But you are just a memory
As distant as the moon
Till once again we are as one
Once more our love shall bloom.

Lost once all consuming, overwhelming and melancholy to the core...

Beautifully expressed Graham, you embody these all--

>>> Reading this  how it tugs at the hearts emotions .
In life if your real lucky you might fall in love just once...but to fall in love twice is Gods gift
to us I think....
We become so lost on the pathways we travel always searching for what we lost or just need so badly to fall in love once more...
Then when you do the distance of the moon is millions of miles away ..just like the love you want to despertatly... Almost a haunting poem ...
this need not fulfilled ...

I echo Barbie's words in the comment before this. This poem is bittersweet...indeed. "As distant as the moon"...sometime lovers can be this far apart while in the same room. I enjoyed this Graham, well done!

This contained loving thoughts but was filled with the melacholic overtones we experience when not with those we love.  Sad times indeed, and titled well.
