In Comes Autumn

Oh how glorious the colors can be
When changing leaves upon the tree
With crisp air on that Autumn day
Enjoying the warmth from the suns array

Look to the sky and you will see
Birds in flocks flying to be free
Free from the cold that is on its way
Heading south is where they'll stay

Oh look while raking up those  leaves
Children jump in, laughing at ease
Leaves thrown here, leaves thrown there,
Dad jumps in and gives them a scare

Now to make the scarecrow live
Stuff him up with the leaves we give
Dress him up and let him be
Set him on the porch to see

Oh look how the wind does blows
Sending leaves in a spiral flow
Colors galore everywhere
On the ground and in the air

Now take a deep breath and inhale
Breath the air, drink the ale
Enjoy the excitement thatís comes with the changing
For In Comes Autumn, the seasons exchanging!!

Autumn comes slowly to Florida and sometimes the leaves don't change till February, so we go to North Carolina to see the colors change. Love Autumn. The heat finally abandons us and we can live without air conditioning for a while. Loved reading this. ML

I was told it is really hard to write of nature, because it already displays such natural beauty. This my dear, is words painting a portrait so vivid.... You have really shown us a beautiful work of art!

Wonderful time of the year except for the fact that it comes before winter, which I find awful! lol
Always so much to be said about this season, as it represents many things and means different things to different  people. Always a beautiful time of year though.  This was lovely.
