calm before the storm
I look up at the moon and revel in the night
I feel connected to it and drawn by the light
I wonder if my forefathers looked at it with a howl
It shines in the night like a old majestic owl
I live in a world completely covered by our shadows
I am lost in suffering and despair in my hallows
Who am I but a hopeless traveler in an everlasting struggle?
Where am I but on the ancient land in this ever lapsing bubble?
I'm here on this path of uncertainty in feelings
Looking at the moon to guide my spiritual healing
I put my faith in disparity and my hope in shambles
I lost my power in charity and clarity in rambles
I resonate with personal self truths and bask in their glory
I am passionate in my beliefs and mask them in my stories

I am flawless because I've been broken and rebuilt
Unaware my flaws still bleed from under a mask of guilt
When you think your essence is so much greater because of books and philosophy
Take the lesson I have yet to learn... There is no humility in hypocrisy

A wonderful poem of self exploration, it is often said that we do not know our selves.

Ohhh, a zodiac approach, I love it! I've always heard that the moon can make people do "crazy" things, but I've also been aware that when drawn by it, very powerful things...this poem was very charismatic and unique in the way that no matter what happens to you, you very seldom let it take you down, you take the learning approach and move on...very much wisdom here indeed!

This is a poem of self exploration. We learn the most when we look within. "Who am I but a hopeless traveler in an everlasting struggle?"...yes indeed, just like the whole lot of us.

lovely! as a life long moonchild I sure relate. She has been my mother, nursemaid, confidante and shoulder to cry on and will remain so.
there are many who feel this way too
