Hey Rosie!
Hey Rosie!  You over there with the long, green neck,
Who gave you permission...all my water lilies to wreck?
Who do you think you are with your expensive taste?
Eating all my gourmet shrimp and leaving the veggies to waste.
Hey Rosie!  You with the bad reputation, the one with the great fame,
You're a big bunch of trouble... but we love you just the same!
Hey Rosie!  Who taught you how to swim with the greatest of ease?
Who gave you permission...all my frogs and gold fish to tease?
Who do you think you are with that sweet, innocent, smiling face?
Diving to the bottom to hide for the winter and leaving not a trace.
Hey Rosie!  You with the sunshine disposition, the one we love to hate,
We'll be waiting for you come springtime...waiting at the garden gate.
Author's Notes:
can you fall in love with a green turtle despite the damage she does to you pond and
cherished water lilies?  oh yeah...

lol, I was trying to place what it was in your pond. A delightful read!

Hah!  A turtle, I was wondering who was the menace in your pond.  I am lucky I don't have turtles but I caught a pair of mallards in my pond one day and some very frightened looking Koi.  Shooed them away and they have not been back since.

This was delightful.  I am waiting now to clean out the muck in the ponds and waiting for the water lilies to come up.  Spring has sprung. ~Pamela

Hey Linda,

What a lovely work about Rosie the turtle!  The way it was so wonderfully delivered by the use of some very smooth reading lines of fine poetry, and the fun of the humor invested, did make this a work most pleasant to read!

Greetings: Peter
