My Job
What do i do all day?...searching through the ER charts,
And what do the doctors see...examining all those body parts?
Cephalgia, torticollis, priapism, epistaxis, and racing hearts,
Cellulitis, hematuria, otitis media, lots of pus, and smelly farts.

What did the Dr. order...an Xray, ultrasound, or EKG?
Yes, it makes a difference...a difference in the fee.
Every patient is unique, as you will quickly see,
Even tho they're all instructed...here's a cup, go pee!

Did i code the lumbar puncture, accu checks, and blood patch?
Dont forget the IVPs and piggybacks...with stop times hard to catch.
Wish i could read the nursing notes...it looks more like chicken scratch,
For Pete's sake, will you choose a level and finish with this batch!!!

Lyda Jo, what i great poem.  I have heard the Physicians transcribing and it's awful and I would say their writing is far worse than that of a nurses of course except my writing is terrible.  I think I would find your job interesting.  there is so much to learn about disease and there course of action.  What works and doesn't, complications and successes.  Keep up the good work.

Lucid imagery of Linda sitting behind a counter throwing empty cups at people. Great take on your daily day.

Now if you would just write one about how the patient feels when he gets the Dr. bill, and how expenxive it will be.  Of course we know it will be way more than we can affford before we ever open it.  It is a great poem!
