Just Practicing My Honesty
I have a friend and he called me Shee,
But now he has chosen a new name for me.
He wanted a name from his own originality,
So PIA is the name he has christened me.
I imagined this name was shrouded in mystery,
Or picked from the garden like a dainty sweet pea.
Does it describe a new facet of my personality?
Does it flatter and paint my picture so graciously?
Tell me, what does this name really say about ME?
Teasing, he declared what a Pain In the Ass I could be!
Oh my!  Has he forgotten his manners and acts of chivalry?
Why didn't he pick a name that was more complimentary?
Maybe he's telling me not to take myself too seriously,
Like a true friend who has shown me a lesson in humility.
Helping me right my ship and  bring it back to reality,
But if you ask he says, "I'm just practicing my honesty!"

Linda -  The name PITA has been used by me for several of my untoward dogs or cats; maybe that was his pet name for you??  Ah well, yet another anchor in the quest for the male/ female relations.  Great write.

haha i love this!!! PIA=pain in the ass i think that should be my nickname! lol thanks for this poem i needed the laugh! :) and its not such a bad nickname, u should be flattered that he chose u out of all his friends to give a nickname too and he took your nickname to a personal and humorous level which makes it mean even more. your special, admit it!! :)
