Within this darkness
My darkest secret is a veil of death
Its cold embrace my final breath
Let go of life drink away the pain
To never have to live again
Within this darkness my path is lost
No turning back its the final cost
I curse the ones who have brought me here
Within this darkness I dissapear

Well written fletch, but I believe it is more darkness for those living, than those whose souls are now in heaven.

Dark words and a heart full of loving light, feels good to just get them out doesn't it.

Your well chosen words, but few, tell a true story. i feel these words are real, i have seen my brother trying to battle both alcohol and depression...they go together and are part of a increasing the other. Even the blaming is part of the disease..."I curse the ones who have brought me here"  But the road is not a direct shot...there is a turning point if one is brave enough to take the right turn...and there is HOPE.  but that's another poem, another day.......

A vivid description of the dark hopelessness depression brings.
