I stare at each letter in your name
repeat them aloud if I must.
In case they might make me feel closer
to you, to your unfelt touch
to your tenderness of heart.

To your missing presence
in this moment that is needing it most.
I reread your words, still amazed
and still in disbelief that by you
they were thoughtfully written.

Can it really be like I am imagining
could it really be as we would like?
Or will my fear of false fairy tale elude
the honesty of what we both have felt.
Taking away what we may never get to live;

never get to see, or touch, or provide
to one another as deeply as it has been dreamt.
We continue to live in the words spoken,
believing in the feelings in us both created.
Not from nothing, but from what can't be denied.

I love this poem...a letter is such a treasured thing.. its message can be clear and concise or somewhat vague so that we "imagine it to be what we would like". but knowing the writer took the time to penn his words and  feelings gives the message more weight and meaning...still we might wonder...and "continue to live in the words spoken."  a letter is a treasured thing, shee
