Under The Covers
A helping hand on these outstretched arms extended to reach,
grasp, release, and repeat
This relapse of raptured hearts that we keep

Together.
On this bed where you were so convinced that we were made for each other
Hand in hand, heart to head
But our bodies didn't quite seem to fit together

Still we tried
and we tried
Until our hearts stopped beating in sync

So we lied
through our teeth
and whispers of love in the dark became indistinct

Soon
Loneliness crept in
between the creases in the sheets
And reality set in
that we just weren't meant to be
I heard you pack your things
and as you turned to leave,
I realized...

Everyone has an anchor but me.
Author's Notes:
"All I can think is
One more time from the beginning
Let's get it right."

Who do you love?
Do they love you back?
Do you feel needed?
Do you feel alone?

I often tell myself that plans are only made to fall apart. And this is what you see here. Despite warnings and precautions. It turned out just as I said. And we're both unhappy again. The only difference now is that we're not unhappy together. We're just. Alone.

This isn't how I wanted this to be. I always say I'll come back and fix things. It's a shame. This isn't how it was supposed to be.

Who is your anchor?
What keeps you here?
