The Prayer

The Prayer

I heard a voice come calling
Whispering words upon the wind
My heart flew like an eagle
My doubts they did rescind

Id asked the Lord for strength
For the road that lay ahead
And I wondered if he had heard me
Had listened to what Id said

I prayed to him for forgiveness
For the temptations of my mind
The weakness of this male
Not to leave the past behind

I even prayed to him for hope
Saying wont you end my fear
And I couldn't believe the answer
That he whispered in my ear

My child I've given you everything
Even gave my beloved son
Have faith your Father loves you
And your fears will be undone

For life is not a play thing
Its just a corridor you roam
You have to open all your doors
Before finding your way home

Some doors will give you happiness
Some doors will give you pain
Some doors youll have to revisit
Over and over again

So please be careful what you do
For some will lead you astray
But know this my child, your father
Will be with you, every step of the way

Never was one for religion, per say,  but I do believe in the powers that be and prayer. I think we all need to be reminded that we aren't as alone as we often feel. This was very reassuring and genuine Eddy, and it is nice to see you writing again.
You take care,
Barbie

...wonderful prayer!  it makes me think of the bible's message to keep knocking and the door will be opened to you...keep seeking and you will find.  To move forward in life one need all these things...guidance, forgiveness, faith, and hope. "my child i've given you everything" and "life is not a play thing" are my favorite lines. warm wishes, LindaJo
