Here, just waiting
Let not the journey be forgotten,
as those who are young forget many things.
Look until the path is found
for no matter how bumpy and torn,
the ride is most certainly worth the fall.
Lead not into the empty realms of pity
nor let the heart be hardened to pain,
loss and loathing must be acknowledged
for they top have their place in the soul.
There will be tears for joy,
and for sadness.
There will be frustration, anger, silence and loneliness,
but there will be elation, happiness, joy, noise and laughter too.
The heart knows no bounds to which
the mind can imagine.
The beat leads forth for we must
not let time make fools of the living.
In sadness let faiths light be gentle
until the darkness is ready
to relinquish its grasp.
In health take hold and
run in your dream fields and
in happiness live fully,
for these memories are warmth when
life is cold.
Let yourself be fully and truly seen,
be open, and allow others to share you
for you are a wonderful person.
So hold on,
keep climbing,
my hand is right here waiting
when you call.

Cherie: With an ability to express yourself this well, I am disappointed that there are not more new poems on your site to read.  You wrote a wonderful piece of free verse here.  It is inspirational, descriptive, flowing, intellectually honest, and philosophically sound being grounded in truths that are not normally known until your life's journey has carried you through many experiences, the difficult and the wonderful.  Its sounds like you've seen shadows and rainbows and are enjoying your walk through the sunshine and in the rain.  I hope all is well with you.  Take care.  Tristan
