Shimmering Crystals
some feel that diamonds
 are the symbol of love
but yesterday at the mall
my eyes were opened to see the beauty
of cut crystal in all its spendor!
clear blue icy flowers
on sparkling stems
bracelets adorned with the brilliance
of soft roses, pink
earrings too, a shimmering iridescent green
fashioned into tiny lizards
 with crystal eyes...
more precious than diamonds
because they remind me
 of you.

Author's Notes:
when my boys were young they played with little green lizards letting them bite their ear lobes and hang like iridescent  green earrings.

I am as Ali...I was drawn by the title, working with crystals..., and I see that they are part of your loves, too!  Wish I had some iridescent green lizard ones~!  Colourful and interesting write...

That's charming lady :o)

...The image of your son with a lizard hanging from his earlobe made me laugh...and the memory recalled touched the heart of this mother. :o)

Thanks for sharing your precious moments...

Hugs,
Pamela

I had to read this poem after the title caught my eye. To say I adore crystals would be an understatement. I used to love the sparkly ones of course....but having worked in tandem with them for years now..I have found often the ugly or misshapen ones are the most powerful;. Even in that they speak to me about the way we often judge people by looks when their true power and beauty is within
There was a lovely happy repectful energy in this poem I loved it.
